Aerial Larvicide Treatment In Western Placer August 24, 25 and 26

Planned Aerial Larvicide Treatment

What: Larval mosquito treatment
Where: Western Placer County agricultural areas
When: August 24, 25 and 26

PLEASE NOTE: Due to fires, high winds and unstable weather conditions, this treatment may be rescheduled.

The agricultural areas, rice fields and marshes, of western Placer County are scheduled for a aerial larvicide treatment. Larval treatments involve an EPA-registered biorational mosquito larvicide applied by a low-flying aircraft in an effort to prevent the emergence of adult mosquitoes and reduce the risk of mosquito-transmitted diseases. Treatments will occur during the daylight hours, most commonly in the early morning through the early afternoon on both August 24, 25 and 26.

Since several factors, including weather conditions, affect treatment activities, the District encourages Placer residents to check the District website for any changes to the treatment schedule and accompanying maps of the planned treatment areas.
