Ground-Based Adulticide Treatment Tomorrow, August 28, Critter Creek Area

Planned Ground-based Adulticide Treatments

What: Adult mosquito treatment
Where: Western Placer County, Critter Creek Area
When: Tomorrow, August 28, 2020 4-5:30 a.m.

Due to ongoing wildfire smoke, high winds and unstable weather conditions, we were unable to conduct aerial applications last week. if conditions allow, we are planning to resume aerial treatments this week to augment our ground-based treatments.

West Nile virus risk remains high. Please protect yourself from mosquito bites.

Areas of Western Placer County are scheduled for a ground-based adulticide treatment due to high adult mosquito counts and positive West Nile virus mosquitoes in the area. An EPA-approved mosquito adulticide will be applied in an ultra-low volume fog by truck to target adult mosquitoes.

Since several factors, including weather conditions, affect treatment activities, the District encourages Placer residents to check the District website for any changes to the treatment schedule and accompanying maps of the planned treatment areas.
