To address increasing mosquito numbers and the arrival of West Nile virus this season in the irrigated agricultural areas in western Placer County, the District will begin aerial adulticide applications to rice fields on Thursday and Friday (August 2 and 3, 2012).
- Placer County west border – areas west of Dowd Road in Lincoln and 3 miles west of Fiddyment Road in Roseville to the western county border. Several acres of land containing organic rice fields will NOT be sprayed. See map of area.
Since several factors affect spraying activities, such as weather and wind conditions, the District encourages Placer residents to continue to check the District website for any changes to the spraying schedule and accompanying maps of the planned treatment areas.
