Aerial adult mosquito treatment TONIGHT in western Placer agricultural areas 8/7/19 between 8:30pm – 11:00pm

Areas of western Placer County are scheduled for an adult mosquito treatment. An EPA-registered mosquito adulticide will be applied in an ultra-low volume (ULV) fog by aircraft to reduce high mosquito abundance and limit West Nile virus risk.

Treatment areas (click for larger image):

  • The agricultural area between Sunset Blvd SW south to Baseline from Pettigrew Road east to Locust Road.
  • Residential areas along Amoruso Way, and adjacent agricultural areas between Catlett Rd and Sunset Blvd SW.
  • Elverta area – south of Baseline Rd, between Pleasant Grove Rd and Palliday Rd.

Note: Depending on weather conditions, the pilot may have to perform an “offset treatment”.  This means that residents may see the plane flying outside of the designated treatment area in order to compensate for wind speed and direction and to ensure that our public health materials are reaching the intended area scheduled for the treatment.
