Aerial adult mosquito treatment in agricultural areas of west Placer August 18, 2016 8:00 – 9:00 PM

Agricultural areas of western Placer, west of Lincoln, are scheduled for treatment for high mosquito numbers and sustained West Nile virus activity.  An EPA-registered mosquito adulticide will be applied in an Ultra-low Volume (ULV) fog by aircraft in an effort to address increased mosquito populations and West Nile virus activity.

Treatment area (Click on map for larger image):

  • Area from west of Dowd Road to west of Nelson Lane on the east, from Moore Road on the south to south of Nicolaus Road on the north.

Since several factors affect treatment activities, such as weather and wind conditions, the District encourages Placer residents to check this website regularly for any changes to the treatment schedule.  For an overview of our mosquito control programs, you may view the District video.

Please note that an “offset treatment” may need to be conducted. This means that residents may see the plane flying outside of the designated treatment area in order to compensate for wind speed and direction and to ensure that our public health materials are reaching the intended area scheduled for the treatment.
